“Open Mike” Jam Sessions held on the first Tuesday of each month. The concept
of a Jam Session is to showcase our excellent local talent as well as to
provide free entertainment for the public. Sessions are from 6pm to 9pm and
take place in the Lobby of the Lure Lodge. Come early and enjoy a country
buffet in the Rowena Landing Restaurant from 5pm to 8pm. Contact the park for

ever Lake Cumberland welcomes the biggest and baddest in speed boat racing as
the OSS racing series makes their much anticipated debut to south central Kentucky. The fun lasts all weekend long with local entertainment, autograph sessions with
the drivers, not to mention the best in offshore racing with over 30 boat
roaring by at speeds exceeding 150 miles per hour. Admission will get you

us in remembrance on Memorial Day. There will be a short parade from the
entrance of the Cemetery to the program site and all veterans are invited to
attend and participate. There will be a program with a special speaker which
will also include the Posting of the Colors, Pledge of Allegiance, singing of The
National Anthem and America the Beautiful, Laying of the Wreath and Rifle
Salute, concluding with the playing of Taps. Immediately following the service
at the National Cemetery there will be a program of remembrance at Zollicoffer Park for the Confederate dead. There will be a flag ceremony, flag
presentation to a person who has made a significant contribution to Battlefield
Preservation, cannon salute and taps. These programs remind us of the deep
appreciation we should have for the ultimate sacrifice men and women veterans
of all of our conflicts have made to secure to the general public the freedoms
and liberties we hold dear.

booth for $15 (w/ electric $25).

Backpacking 101 at Cumberland Falls State Resort Park

Let the naturalist staff at Cumberland Falls teach you the basics
of environmentally responsible backpacking while you enjoy the beautiful Daniel Boone National Forest. These treks are guided overnight trips designed both for
folks without a lot of experience in the backcountry as well as for more
experienced backpackers who are interested in learning minimum impact camping
techniques. Not only do we provide instruction on how to plan on overnight
trip, but we also provide all of the equipment needed on your weekend with us.
Each trip is approximately 8-10 miles round-trip with 300 feet of elevation
change. Participants must be able to walk the distance carrying at least 25
pounds. Limited to ages 18 and up. Registration fee of $75 per person includes
all equipment rental, instruction, and meals. Registrants will receive a list
of suggested personal items to bring. Contact the park for more
